Three months after coming up one game shy in their quest to hoist the Stanley Cup, the Bruins are back together to start a new campaign as training camp opens on Thursday.
Most of the usual suspects are back for the 2019-20 campaign, though Marcus Johansson signed a two-year deal with the Sabres. Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo remain unsigned as restricted free agents, so their status is a big storyline as camp opens.
And while much of the focus will be on the team's key players, there's room for players to surprise and steal an unexpected roster spot based on their performance over the next few weeks.
From prospects to free agent signings, Joe Haggerty shines a spotlight on some less-heralded players that bear watching during camp.
