Here are the reported incentives, details of Bergeron's new Bruins contract

Patrice Bergeron talks about his decision to play another season with the Bruins and whether this will be it for him

Patrice Bergeron is officially coming back to the Boston Bruins.

The captain has signed a one-year deal worth $2.5 million with another $2.5 million in incentives, the team announced Monday morning.

Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reported the details of the contract, which includes a $1.5 million base salary, a $1 million signing bonus and $2.5 million in games played incentives. There's also a no-movement clause, which is probably the least surprising aspect of the contract.

Players who are 35-plus years old are able to sign one-year deals with easy-to-hit incentives/bonuses. Bergeron's bonus for playing just 10 games is a perfect example of that. It's also an effective way for the Bruins to sign players when they're tight against the salary cap.

Boston currently has just $2.2 million in cap space after this Bergeron contract, per CapFriendly. They still need to sign newly acquired center Pavel Zacha, whose arbitration hearing is set for Aug. 11. There's also the possibility of David Krejci returning, but no new reports about his future have surfaced over the last couple weeks.
