Leave it to Trent Frederic to provide one of the most entertaining moments of the Boston Bruins' season to date.
The 22-year-old Bruins winger got chippy with New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban on several occasions during the teams' 2021 NHL season opener.
But what the game broadcast didn't catch was Frederic and Subban trading a load of trash talk. Fortunately, Frederic was mic'd up for the contest, and NESN's "Behind the B" captured a few of their verbal jabs.

"I’m going to (expletive) beat the living (expletive) out of you!" Subban yelled at Frederic as the two skated face-to-face.
"Really? Let's go. When you're ready," Frederic responded.
Officials separated the two before they dropped the gloves, but as Subban skated back to the bench, Frederic hit the veteran with his gem of a burn:

"Post another (expletive) workout video, you (expletive) loser."

That's a well-researched dig at Subban, whose Instagram page indeed is chock-full with workout videos.
Subban's workouts pay dividends, as the three-time All-Star stands at 6-foot, 210 pounds. But Frederic is no string bean at 6-foot-2, 203 pounds, so this would be a heavyweight fight if the two decided to spar.
There will be plenty more opportunities for Frederic and Subban to get familiar, as the Bruins and Devils play six more times this season under the new NHL schedule format.
