Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk a game-time decision for Game 7 vs. Blues

BOSTON -- Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk could make his return to the 2019 Stanley Cup Final when the B's host the St. Louis Blues in Game 7 at TD Garden.

Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said Wednesday morning that Grzelcyk has been medically cleared to play and will be a "game-time decision" for the series finale.

The young defenseman hasn't played since Game 2 of the series. He was knocked out of that game on a dangerous hit from behind by Blues forward Oskar Sundqvist in the first period. Sundqvist was suspended one game as a result of the play.

Grzelcyk was among the handful of B's to take part in Wednesday's optional morning skate.

Connor Clifton likely would be the defenseman to come out of the lineup if Grzelcyk draws back in. Karson Kuhlman is expected to remain on the second line in place of veteran forward David Backes.
