Boston Bruins dress as Mario characters ahead of Dallas Stars game

Fluto Shinzawa joins Mike Felger and Michael Holley on Boston Sports Tonight and discusses the Bruins uncertainty at goalie.

We’re officially one week from Halloween and the Boston Bruins are pulling out all the stops for the spooky season.

Their team chemistry was on full display Monday when the players visited patients at Mass General Hospital for Children dressed as characters from the hit video game series Super Mario Bros.

Leading the pack were Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand dressed as Mario and Luigi, respectively. They were joined by Linus Ullmark, Charlie Coyle, Nick Foligno, Brandon Carlo, Jeremy Swayman and Derek Fobort as many familiar characters including Yoshi, Toad and Waluigi.

This was the team’s 12th annual Halloween visit to nearby children’s hospitals. Past group costumes included dressing up as characters from Frozen, Toy Story and Snow White, with Swayman putting on a convincing performance as the titular character alongside the seven dwarves.

Boston is off to the best start in the NHL, boasting a 5-1 record. They’ll trade out the costumes for their typical uniforms tomorrow as they host the Dallas Stars.
