The Boston Bruins could learn their opponent in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final as early as Tuesday night with the St. Louis Blues taking a 3-2 series lead into Game 6 of their Western Conference Final matchup against the San Jose Sharks.
The Blues are at home and two of the Sharks' best players, defenseman Erik Karlsson and forward Tomas Hertl, already have been ruled out of Game 6 due to injuries. Sharks center Joe Pavelski also is banged up and will be a game-time decision. So, it's pretty clear St. Louis is in a prime position to close out the series and clinch its first Cup Final appearance since 1970.
The 1970 series came against Boston, and it didn't end well for the Blues as legendary Bruins defenseman Bobby Orr clinched a championship for the B's with his famous flying goal in overtime of Game 4.
The Blues are hoping for a chance to avenge that defeat to the Bruins and end their 51-year championship drought, but the Sharks aren't likely to go down without a fight.
San Jose is no stranger to overcoming series deficits. The Sharks were trailing 3-1 in their first-round series versus the Vegas Golden Knights and won three consecutive matchups to advance. They also survived a seven-game series with the Colorado Avalanche in the second round.
Here's how and when to watch Blues vs. Sharks Game 6 online.
