Wahl re-signed with the Dodgers on a minor league contract last summer and has been released after just six relief appearances this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 30-year-old righty has missed time due to injury over the last few years, but still figures to get another opportunity somewhere else.

There are several prominent names in this first round of cuts from Dodgers’ camp, including Gaviglio, Wahl, Erlin, Duplantier and Ramirez all being jettisoned. There’s plenty of big-league experience among that group and it wouldn’t be surprising to see several of them in the majors this season. Among the position players, Vargas has made an impression this spring, launching some tape-measure homers in Cactus League action.

The Dodgers designated Wahl for assignment shortly after claiming him off waivers. He cleared waivers this time, though, and will remain in the organization.

Wahl was just claimed off waivers from the Brewers in late June, but the Dodgers needed to clear a roster spot to claim Jimmie Sherfy from the division-rival Giants. The 29-year-old righty is coming off an oblique strain, but there should be some interest on waivers.

Wahl was just pushed off the 40-man roster in Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon and has already found a new home. He’s yet to make an appearance in the majors this season but should be recovered by now from the oblique strain that sent him to the IL before Opening Day.

Wahl had not pitched for the Brewers this season, mostly because of a severe right oblique strain, and he is now officially off the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old holds a career 7.63 ERA in the majors.

Wahl began the year on the injured list due to a right oblique strain. He won’t be eligible to return for a while, though the Brewers have no reason to rush things. He just needs to pitch.

The procedural move clears a 40-man roster spot for Jace Peterson, who is being called up from the team’s alternate training site to fill-in for injured Kolten Wong.

Wahl suffered the injury while pitching in a Cactus League game on March 15. There’s no timetable yet.

Wahl tweaked something while delivering a pitch and eventually walked off the mound with the trainer. A strained oblique seems to be the likely ailment here, which probably is going to lead to an injured list stint.
