Dolphins vs Browns Prediction: Odds, Expert Picks, QB Matchup, Injury News, Betting Trends and Stats

NFL Week 17 preview: Dolphins vs. Browns
Miami finds itself on the road in a cold stadium in December, but Mike Florio and Chris Simms believe that the Dolphins can reverse their cold-weather fortune against a struggling Browns squad.

If Miami loses, they can kiss the postseason goodbye with less than a 1% chance of getting in, but with a win, the current 10% raises to 14%, so there’s still a chance. Cleveland, at 3-12, is tied for the second-worst record in the NFL.

The Browns go to Baltimore next week, so they will either play spoiler or the top draft pick. Cleveland is one win away from the top spot, so they may lose out on purpose, which is why Dorian Thompson-Robinson is starting again.

The Dolphins are 7-8 on the season and won five of the past seven games. Miami is coming off a 29-17 win versus the 49ers and heads to New York to take on the Jets next week to wrap up the regular season. With the Browns (3-12) and Jets (4-11) remaining, Miami needs to win these two games and receive a landslide of help to make the playoffs.

Game odds for Dolphins vs. Browns

The latest odds as of Saturday courtesy of DraftKings:

Moneyline: Miami Dolphins (-298), Cleveland Browns (+240)

Spread: Miami -6.5 (-105)

Total: 37.5

The opening spread has not budged but the total dropped from 41.5 to 37.5 after the recent play and injury news on Cleveland’s Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

NBC Sports Bet Best Bet

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes Dorian Thompson-Robinson to go Under 0.5 Passing Touchdowns:

“For +110 odds, DTR to not throw a touchdown is going to be in my pocket.

DTR has zero touchdown passes and five interceptions on the year. Last week, he threw 34 passes completing 20 of them for 157 yards and no scores but two interceptions. DTR is more of a ghreat with his legs to score, as he recorded nine rushing attempts for 49 yards.

With a game total of 37.5 and DTR missing practice this week, I expect a low-scoring effort from Cleveland and another outing like the last for DTR.”
