We start the first full week of NBA betting in Brooklyn where the Nets host the Washington Wizards. Bradley Beal is questionable but expected to play for Washington while Brooklyn will be at full strength. Odds powered by PointsBet.

Washington Wizards vs. Brooklyn Nets (-6.5) Total: 229

I gave very little thought to the Wizards prior to the season if I’m being honest. Now that they have played a few games, I must admit Washington looks better than I thought they would. Obviously, Bradley Beal is a walking bucket, but the additions of Kyle Kuzma, Spencer Dinwidddie and Montrezl Harrell have looked really good to start the season.

The Brooklyn Nets lost their home opener last night vs. the Hornets. On the season, the Nets are 1-2 straight up. Tonight’s game opened up with the Nets as 7.5-point favorites. That number has since come down a full point.

PointsBet is reporting 56% of the tickets backing the Brooklyn Nets while 76% of the handle is on the Nets. The line movement in this game is going toward the Wizards, most likely because of the health of Bradley Beal. Beal, who is questionable, is expected to play for Washington tonight.

We are still very early in the NBA season, but we are starting to see some trends. So far road teams are 24-16 ATS, but road underdogs are 12-12 ATS. The Wizards scored a road victory over the Raptors last week, but Brooklyn is a different hill to climb. I like the Nets to get rolling tonight.
