The NBA season gets into its second week with a throwback to a classic rivalry of two teams that are back to being contenders as the Knicks travel to face off against the Bulls tonight. Odds provided by PointsBet.

New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls (-1) Total: 215

There was a time when the Knicks and Bulls may have been the best rivalry in professional sports. Younger NBA fans may not have been around for the classic Bulls and Knicks battles of the 90s. It’s good to see both teams back on the national stage. Hopefully, we will have plenty more meaningful Knicks and Bulls games.

The Chicago Bulls are the lone undefeated team in the Eastern Conference and they will try to keep it that way tonight when the 3-1 Knicks come to town. The Knicks should have all their key players available tonight and Zach Levine is likely to play for the Bulls with a thumb injury.

PointsBet opened this game up with Bulls as 2-point home favorites, but that number has since shrunk to 1. The Knicks are the public side in tonight’s game despite being the road team. I would not be surprised if the Knicks are the favorite by tip-off.

When the Knicks and Bulls were in the midst of their rivalry, defense was the key to victory. Tonight’s game opened up with a Total of 215 on PointsBet and that number dipped to 214, before going back up to 215. Some shops are already headed to 216. I think the number is moving in the right direction.

Public perception will have you believe that this will be a defensive struggle, but that’s not the case. On the season, the Knicks and Bulls are a combined 5-3 to the Over. Two of those Unders came vs. the low-scoring Detroit Pistons. The Knicks are the second highest scoring team in the league. Plus, they have attempted and made the most 3-pointers on the season. I like the Over to cash in tonight’s contest.

Edge: Over 215
