The NBA season is coming to a close as there are only two weeks remaining. I have mentioned the need to be careful with your NBA wagers as we go down the stretch. That said, I would advise on betting on teams with something to play for. There are nine games on tonight’s slate, but only three of them are pitting playoff teams vs. each other. As always, odds are powered by PointsBet.

Denver Nuggets vs. Charlotte Hornets (+3.5) Total: 233.5

The Charlotte Hornets are getting hot at the right time, having won nine of their last 12 games. They have moved into the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, meaning they would only have to win one game to make it from the play-in tournament to the playoffs. They could even host a game in the play-in round. Of note, the Hornets had impressive wins over the Utah Jazz and Brooklyn Nets over the weekend. Tonight, they will look to knock off the Denver Nuggets.

The Hornets are 39-36 on the season and as mentioned earlier, are playing their best basketball of the season right now. Until recently, Charlotte has struggled against the best teams in the league. The Hornets are currently 18-29 on the Money Line vs. teams currently in the play-in or playoffs. To their credit, they have won five straight against those teams. When facing those teams on their home court, they are 9-15 on the Money Line and 10-13-1 ATS.

The Denver Nuggets enter tonight’s game only one game behind the Jazz for the Northwest Division lead. However, the Nuggets are 5-5 in their last 10 games and have lost three of their last five games. Two of those games were against the Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns, arguably the two best teams in the league. This season as road favorites, which the Nuggets are tonight, they are 6-9-1 ATS but 11-5 on the Money Line.

PointsBet opened this game with the Nuggets as four-point favorites. That number has remained between 3.5 and 4. PointsBet is reporting 68% of the tickets on the Nuggets but the money is split 50/50. As today moves on, I would expect money to come in on the Hornets. Charlotte will be tough to beat this evening but Denver is up to the challenge. I would not lay points with Denver but love them on the Money Line.

Edge: Nuggets -170
