Vaughn Dalzell breaks down how he’s betting the second game of the Colorado Rockies vs Miami Marlins series.
Marlins (-120) at Rockies (+100): O/U 11.5
The Rockies came through for us with 5-3 win yesterday. The Marlins look for revenge in a pitching matchup between Eury Perez and Austin Gomber.
Perez makes his first start at Coors Field and his third career start overall. Standing at 6-foot-8, Perez has 13 strikeouts to three walks and three earned runs over 9.2 innings this season for the Fins. Both of the 20-year-olds starts came in Miami, so pitching at Coors Field will be an adjustment and this start could go sideways.
Gomber starts for Colorado and almost all of his starts have gone sideways. Gomber’s allowed at least three earned runs in seven out of nine starts and four of the five home starts.
Gomber has a 8.75 ERA and .330 OBA over five home starts in 23.2 innings. Miami is hitting .283 versus LHP and is top six in SLG, OBP, OPS, hits, home runs and RBIs.
This matchup should be a good opportunity for the Marlins to put up runs and with the Rockies being equally successful on offense at home, I expect runs to be scored on both sides.
I played the Over 11.5 at +100 odds and would go out to -115. This game also has the best weather for extra base hits and home runs.
Pick: Over 11.5 (1u)
