NEW YORK -- Jockey Jose Ortiz won a pair of $125,000 stakes on Friday at Aqueduct.
Ortiz guided Loki’s Vengeance to a 7 1/4-length victory over Becker’s Galaxy in the New York Stallion Stakes.
The 5-year-old trained by Mike Hushion set the pace in the commanding win, his seventh in 22 starts. He paid $8.90 to win.
The time was 1:23.20 for the seven furlongs.
The finish was tighter in the Winter Memories for 3-year-old fillies on the turf as Ortiz guided My Impression to a rallying half length victory over Sassy Little Lila.
My Impression improved to 5-0-1 in nine starts for Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey. She paid $7.50 to win as the 5-2 favorite.
Ortiz lost his bid for a stakes hattrick when Wilburnmoney ran sixth in the $100,000 Key Cents Stakes for 2-year-old fillies bred in New York.
Filibustin was the winner with Jose Lezcano aboard. She beat Overnegotiate by three lengths to keep her record unblemished at 3 for 3.
Trained by Greg Sacco, Filibustin paid $8.50 to win.
The time was 1:12.50 for the six furlongs.
