After watching three of golf’s best battle it out for the RBC Canadian Open title, we quickly turn our attention to this week’s tournament. All eyes are focused on The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts, for the third major of the year, the 122nd U.S. Open. TCC first hosted the U.S Open in 1913. While this will be just the fourth time the U.S. Open has called TCC home, TCC has hosted many important tournaments. Those tournaments include the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Women’s Amateur, the Walker Cup, the Ryder Cup, and a few others.

TCC will be a tough test for those who make the trip to Massachusetts for the U.S. Open. The course features small greens and dangerously penal rough. Like many of the U.S. Open locations, saving par will be the least of your worries if you are missing fairways and greens. To add another layer of trepidation, the wind will be howling this weekend, with winds forecasted upwards of 17 miles per hour. As expected by the tradition set by previous U.S. Opens, we are in for a true delight this week.

After a blazing 8-under-62 in the 4th round of the Canadian Open, four-time major champion Rory McIlroy is now the odds-on favorite set by PointsBet Sportsbook. At +1000, McIlroy’s game makes total sense at TCC. He’s grown up playing in windy conditions that demand you adapt and change your ball flight to better help navigate the golf course. He’s a great ball striker with an excellent short game, and his putter has caught fire. If he’s the guy you want to back this week, that’s something you should do with complete confidence.

At first glance, the golfer who caught my attention was Matt Fitzpatrick (+2500). Fitzpatrick won the 2013 U.S. Amateur at TCC and is coming off a strong performance at the Canadian Open. While he might be disappointed in the finish, it’s evident his game is in an excellent spot to content this week.

Here’s a look at the other notable odds set by PointsBet Sportsbook:
