We are two days away from the 104th playing of the PGA Championship and the NBC Edge team discusses the course layout, their favorite bets, what players to back and what players to fade.
Tiger is back this week competing in his 2nd major of the season at a place where he won back in 2007. Drew and Will do not having interest in backing Tiger (+6000) this week, but they are looking at guys like Scottie Scheffler (+1000) and Jordan Spieth (+1600). Scheffler has been on record saying Southern Hills is his favorite course and Jordan Spieth (+1600) is looking for the career grand slam and comes into the PGA Championship this weekend with a win and a second place finish in his last two events.
Head Trader for PointsBet Jay Croucher joins the show to discuss how people are betting the PGA Championship this weekend. He said Hideki Matsuyama (+2500) is drawing a lot of attention and is currently their biggest liability. He also explained why big names like Tiger Woods (+6000) and Bryson DeChambeau (+9000) are garnering a lot of attention and why Brooks Koepka (+4000) is a wild card.
Brad Thomas also joins the show to discuss how to attack the DFS market. He sees value in Justin Thomas ($10.700) and Hideki Matsuyama ($9,200) whose styles of play both should fit the course very well. He explains why he’s fading Brooks Koepka ($9,000) and Bryson DeChambeau ($8,300) and finally shares some golfers flying under the radar including Mito Perrira ($6,700) and Robert MacIntyre that ($6,900) he’s backing.
Lastly the team gives out their favorite bets for the tournament. Drew is taking Jason Kokrak to finish in the top 40 (+125). Will loves Louis Oosthuzien to miss the cut (+210) and is picking Shane Lowry to win (+3000) and Brad is backing Justin Thomas (+170) to finish in the top 10.
