The Giants are expected to re-sign restricted free agent TE Bear Pascoe.
With both Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum recovering from torn ACLs, re-signing Pascoe should be a no-brainer for the Giants despite his limited athleticism. Even if Ballard and Beckum both begin 2012 on the PUP list, Pascoe is unlikely to be worth a look in fantasy leagues.
  • FA Tight End #83
Giants re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Bear Pascoe to a one-year, $540,000 contract.
A no-brainer for the G-Men, who could be without both Jake Ballard and Travis Beckum for the entire 2012 season as they recover from torn ACLs. Extremely limited athletically, Pascoe will back-up free agent signee Martellus Bennett after catching 12 passes for 136 yards last season.
  • FA Tight End #83
Bear Pascoe caught two passes for 14 yards in New York’s Week 17 win over the Giants.
Playing increased snaps in Jake Ballard’s second straight absence, Pascoe managed to stand out by hurtling Cowboys CB Terence Newman on both of his grabs. An ordinary blocker who made only 12 catches this season, Pascoe is no guarantee to be back with New York in 2012.
  • ARI Tight End #86
Giants coach Tom Coughlin revealed Monday that Jake Ballard is dealing with an aggravation of an old PCL injury, and that he’s “hoping it’s not a season ender.”
It doesn’t sound like Ballard will be a go for Week 16, and his Week 17 status could also be in doubt if he’s a slow healer. Backup TE Travis Beckum was inactive for Week 15 with a chest injury, while third-stringer Bear Pascoe suffered a rib injury against the Redskins. The Giants could be without a pass catcher at tight end in a must-win game against the Jets.
  • FA Tight End #83
Giants TE Bear Pascoe was forced from Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, and is doubtful to return.
X-rays came back negative, but it’s possible Martellus Bennett’s backup has a high-ankle sprain. Pascoe has just three catches in eight games.
  • FA Tight End #83
The Giants will use TE Bear Pascoe at fullback if Henry Hynoski (knee surgery) isn’t ready for Week 1.
Hynoski will be in a race to get ready for the opener after surgery to repair a damaged left MCL and chip fracture. Lead blocker is an underrated position in Giants OC Kevin Gilbride’s system, which at times looked dominant in I-formations last year with Hynoski clearing holes for Ahmad Bradshaw. New York finished the season seventh in the NFL in yards-per-carry average.
  • ARI Tight End #86
Giants TE Jake Ballard left Sunday’s game against the Redskins in the second quarter with a hip contusion.
His return is questionable. Big Blue is extremely thin at tight end with Travis Beckum (hamstring) sidelined. Bear Pascoe is the lone tight end left on the depth chart. New York can ill-afford to lose Ballard, who had one reception for 18 yards before exiting.
  • FA Tight End #83
Giants re-signed TE Bear Pascoe to a one-year, $715,000 contract.
Pascoe was set to become a restricted free agent on March 12. Instead, the Giants get their blocking tight end under contract cheaply for 2013. He’ll provide some insurance in case Martellus Bennett walks as an unrestricted free agent.
  • FA Tight End #83
The Newark Star-Ledger expects the Giants to re-sign free agent TE Bear Pascoe.
A blocking specialist, Pascoe saw extensive playing time in two tight-end sets and will likely be brought back to compete for an H-back role under new OC Ben McAdoo. The Star-Ledger believes a two-year, $1.8 million deal could make sense for both sides.

Patriots signed TE Bear Pascoe and OG Jon Halapio.
Blocking tight end Pascoe appeared in three games for the Lions last season after spending much of his career with the Giants. Halapio was a sixth-round pick of the Patriots back in 2014. Both are roster long shots.
