Steph Curry dropped 46-points in the Warriors win over the Grizzlies while securing the NBA scoring title. He talks about earning the award and revels he channeled his Baron Davis celebration late in the game.
Baron Davis is one of the more revered recent players among Warriors fans, as he was the point guard and heartbeat of the iconic "We Believe" team. But as he explained to fellow "We Believe" teammates Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes last week, he initially was wary of being traded to the Warriors during the 2004-05 season.
"One, I did not want to go to Golden State, because at one point, it was like, LA dudes and Bay dudes, the stereotype is like, we didn't f--k with each other. It was always like a rivalry from Cal and all that, but I'd always had good games at Golden State," Davis said on the "All The Smoke" podcast.
Davis grew up in Los Angeles, and played his college basketball close to home at UCLA. The Bruins long have had a rivalry with their fellow UC counterpart in Berkeley.

After joining the Warriors in February 2005, Davis played a total of 227 games with the franchise, averaging 20.1 points, 8.1 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game.
An unusually high-flyer for a point guard, Davis provided a plethora of remarkable highlights during his time playing in the Bay Area.
But none comes close to what remains the most memorable dunk in franchise history, when he hammered down a dunk over the 6-foot-9 Andrei Kirilenko during the Warriors' Western Conference semifinals series against the Utah Jazz.
Davis' celebration of pulling his jersey up was recreated by Steph Curry recently, as the Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies in the season finale.

Davis understandably had some reservations about coming to the Bay Area given the longtime "rivalry" between Northern and Southern California, but he'll forever be remembered for the thrilling moments he delivered with the Warriors, and being the heart and soul of the iconic "We Believe" team that upset the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in the 2007 playoffs.
