What Paschall-Jazz trade means for Warriors' 2021-22 roster

The Warriors are bringing in Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica on minimum contracts.

And Golden State on Wednesday afternoon traded Eric Paschall to the Utah Jazz.

That means there are 12 players with fully guaranteed contracts for 2021-22:

Steph Curry, Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Porter, Andrew Wiggins, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, James Wiseman and Bjelica.

Now, let's make the following three assumptions -- 1) the Warriors don't make any more trades this offseason 2) they enter training camp/Opening Night with 14 players on the roster -- which creates flexibility to sign someone later in the season 3) they add one more veteran in free agency.

This would mean there only is one more spot available. Who gets it?

It's very safe to assume it would go to Damion Lee (his contract is non-guaranteed), especially since Klay isn't going to be ready right away.

Lee shot nearly 40 percent from deep last season and knows the system.

So what does that mean for Mychal Mulder? Perhaps he clears waivers and returns on a two-way contract.

And what about Nico Mannion? If he doesn't get a standard NBA contract elsewhere, maybe he comes back on a two-way deal again.

Now, you might be asking yourself right now -- are you forgetting about Kelly Oubre? Ah, yes. That is a very fluid situation, and a lot changes if he re-signs with the Warriors.

And everything is different if Golden State strikes a blockbuster trade for Ben Simmons, Bradley Beal or some other star.

Stay tuned.
