Warriors vs. Trail Blazers watch guide: Lineups, injuries and player usage

Share

The All-Star break beckons, but the Warriors have one more piece of business to handle: the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night at Moda Center.

Coverage on NBC Sports Bay Area begins at 6:00 p.m. with Warriors Central, followed by Warriors Pregame. Tipoff in Portland is scheduled for 7:35 p.m.

The Warriors (41-15) have won 16 of their last 17 games, but they’re on the second night of a back-to-back set having come back to beat Utah at Oracle Arena Tuesday.

An already difficult task is made tougher by the absence of starting center DeMarcus Cousins and reserves Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston, who are all scheduled to sit this one out.

Portland (33-23), tied with Houston for the No. 4 spot in the Western Conference, is coming off consecutive losses at Dallas and at Oklahoma City.

This is the last of four regular-season meeting between the teams. The Warriors won two of the first three.

INJURY REPORT

Warriors: F Andre Iguodala (left hamstring tightness), C DeMarcus Cousins (load management), G Jacob Evans III (left pelvis soreness), C Damian Jones (left pectoral surgery) and G Shaun Livingston (load management) are listed as out.

Blazers: No injuries listed.

ROTATION OUTLOOK

Warriors: With Cousins out, the Warriors likely will turn to Looney, the primary starter over the six weeks before Cousins was cleared. Most of the remaining minutes will go to Green, particularly when the Warriors go small.

It is anticipated that Livingston’s minutes will be filled primarliy by PG Quinn Cook, though G Damion Lee also could squeeze in, particularly with Iguodala also out.

The Warriors should have plenty of 3-point opportunities, as the Blazers are 27th in defending the triple.

Blazers: The Blazers are comfortable going deep into their bench, with recently acquired G/F Rodney Hood joining F Evan Turner, C Zach Collins, F Jake Layman and G Seth Curry.

In three games with Portland, Hood is averaging 10.3 points on 68.4-percent shooting, 55.6 percent from deep.

Though C Enes Kanter has agreed to join the Blazers, he is not expected to be available.

F Skal Labissiere, acquired from the Kings at the deadline last week, has yet to enter a game.

The Blazers are 23-8 at home and have won nine of their last 10 games at Moda Center.

Officials: Ken Mauer (chief), Ron Garretson, Derek Richardson
