OKLAHOMA CITY -- For years, this matchup has been circled on the calendar for much of the NBA world.
Now, with star power either injured or gone, Sunday's matchup between the Golden State Warriors (0-1) and Oklahoma City Thunder (0-2) has been relegated to a battle of the winless.
Pregame coverage on NBC Sports Bay Area begins at 11:30 a.m., with tip-off scheduled for 12:40 p.m. from Chesapeake Energy Arena.

In a rivalry usually reserved for high stakes matchups, this game lacks the star power we're accustomed to seeing. While Draymond Green and Steph Curry are expected to suit up, gone are Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Paul George, who were traded away from their respective teams.
The Warriors will be without Kevon Looney for the road trip as he gets clarity on his hamstring tightness, further thinning an already baron Golden State frontcourt.
The Warriors' frontcourt unit will get another test with Thunder big man Steven Adams, one of the league's best rebounders in the first game of a back to back set.

ROTATION OUTLOOK
Warriors: Entering Oklahoma City, the Warriors have one of the smallest frontcourts in the league. The unit took another hit Thursday when Kevon Looney re-aggravated a hamstring issue.
With three big men out, Marquese Chriss -- a training camp invite who earned the team's last spot -- is the only healthy big man on the roster, though Eric Paschal, Omari Spellman and Draymond Green will get minutes at center.
Last season, the Warriors won two out of three regular-season games against the Thunder. The team has won five of the last six road games in Oklahoma City.
Thunder: With Russell Westbrook and Paul George gone, Oklahoma City is beginning a rebuild around former Clippers guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In his Thunder debut, the Canadian scored a then career-high 26 points, Two nights later, he scored 28 points, adding seven rebounds.

Following a trade from Houston, veteran guard Chris Paul has been solid, averaging 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games.
Seven-footer Steven Adams is averaging 12.5 rebounds and could have his way against Golden State's thin frontcourt.
