Warriors' Steph Curry had some ‘whoa' moments with Team USA in 2010

Steph Curry -- the No. 7 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft -- finished as the runner-up for NBA Rookie of the Year.

He averaged 22.0 points, 7.2 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 1.9 steals over the final 42 games that season, while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 44.1 percent from 3-point territory.

Curry parlayed that success into a spot on the roster with USA Basketball at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. Although he only averaged 10.6 minutes per game, he made his presence felt.

"Steph had some flashes," Danny Granger recently told Bleacher Report's Sean Highkin. "He didn't play that much. But when he did get in, and in practices, looking back in retrospect, I see the Stephen Curry that we know now.

"When you look at some players, especially young players, and the way they do certain things, they have a way about the game. They see a play before it's about to happen. They can add their own style and their own flash to it and still be successful.

"He had some plays where we were like, 'Whoa.' You could see the Steph Curry we know now in the making."

Rockets analyst makes wild Draymond Green claim after antics vs. Alperen Şengün

Alperen Şengün got away with ‘baby flop' on Draymond flagrant, Lou Williams says

Curry won a second gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, but was not a part of the gold medal squad at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.

If all goes according to plan, the three-time NBA champion will add an Olympic gold to his résuménext summer in Tokyo.
