Porter exits Warriors-Bulls game with right quad contusion

The Warriors got a scare in the second quarter Friday night when Otto Porter Jr. appeared to injure his right leg. After being examined, it was determined that he had a right quad contusion.

Otto Porter Jr. left the Warriors' game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night after suffering a right quad contusion and re-entered the game to start the fourth quarter after initially being deemed questionable to return.

Just over a minute into the second quarter at Chase Center, Porter was running at full speed towards the lane when he took a pass from Nemanja Bjelica. Bulls wing Alex Caruso clipped Porter, who immediately hobbled to the baseline where he crumpled to the ground and began clutching his right leg.

It appeared Porter was going to try to stay in the game, but he eventually would limp to the sideline and head to the Warriors' locker room to be examined.

Towards the end of the second quarter, Porter emerged from the locker room and sat on the Warriors' bench. He didn't return to the game in the second quarter, and finished the first half 0-for-2 from 3-point range in three minutes of action.

Porter, the No. 3 overall draft pick in 2013 by the Washington Wizards, has a ton of talent, but injuries have hindered his ability to reach his potential.

Porter spent two and a half seasons with the Bulls, but only appeared in 54 games due to injuries. The Warriors were able to sign him to a minimum contract due to his history of injuries.
