Thompson became the latest member of Golden State to be removed from a playoff game with a leg injury Sunday night when he was pulled early in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.
Thompson appeared to suffer the injury after he awkwardly landed on a 3-point shot attempt.
Thompson went to the bench shortly thereafter, and proceeded to go straight into the Warriors' locker room.
He was ruled out for the duration of the game with hamstring tightness.
After the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters that Thompson said he'd be fine, but Kerr quipped that "Klay could be half dead and say he's fine."
Klay told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes he doesn't envision himself missing Game 3.
Thompson will get an MRI exam on Monday.
Game 3 is Wednesday in Oakland, so Thompson will have 72 hours to nurse the injury.
