Warriors' Kevon Looney available for NBA Finals Game 4 vs. Raptors

Kevon Looney was ruled out for the season.

Until he wasn't.

Days after Steve Kerr declared the Warriors big man out for the rest of the NBA Finals, Looney is active for Friday night's Game 4 of the NBA Finals vs. the Raptors.

"Kevon's going to give it a go tonight," the Warriors coach told reporters before Friday's game.

The Warriors announced on June 3 that Looney has suffered a first costal cartilage fracture and ruled him out indefinitely. Although Kerr later said Looney was out for the rest of the playoffs, it has been speculated over the last few days that he could make a return.

A source told NBC Sports Bay Area's Logan Murdock on Thursday that the injury being reported is accurate, but it’s possible to play through, and that the affected area is in the sternum and ribs, not the collarbone.

Golden State missed Looney's sturdy defense and touch around the basket in Game 3, when the Warriors lost 123-109 to the Raptors and fell into a two-games-to-one deficit in the NBA Finals.
