The Warriors face the Raptors in a critical Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night, and while they've been hard at work trying to address their shortcomings in Game 1, their head coach hasn't been too occupied to lose sight of the more important things in life.
Sadly, gun violence has reminded us all too often that the most important and precious of those things is life itself, and Steve Kerr took the opportunity to address the recent mass shooting in Virginia Beach during his pregame press conference.
Kerr, wearing a "Vote for our Lives" shirt, urged anyone who was listening to get out and vote.

"The shirt has everything to do with the tragedy in Virginia Beach a couple days ago, and how devastated so many families are and so many people are," Kerr said. "The shirt is a reminder that the only way we can get out of this mess is to actually vote, and to vote for people who are going to be willing to create some change in our gun laws in our country.
"The young generation, the March For Our Lives generation, has really inspired me," Kerr continued. "So I offer my support to them and to all young people, and hope that we can create a change where we don't all have to walk around scared we're going to get shot in our country."
Kerr lost his own father, Malcolm, to gun violence when he was assassinated at the American University of Beirut in 1984, and it remains a very personal issue for him.

The Warriors will attempt to send the Raptors a message in Game 2 on Sunday night, but Kerr already sent a far more important one to the rest of the country.
