Stephen Curry says he'll challenge brother Seth in NBA 3-point contest

Family ties bind. So much so that Stephen Curry can't turn down the chance to challenge his younger brother, Seth, in the NBA 3-point shooting contest next month during All-Star Weekend.

"The 3-point shootout will be fun with the Curry brothers," the Warriors star told ESPN on Friday night. "I know he's going to be gunning for me, though. That's the problem."

Shooting from deep evidently runs in the Currys' blood. Seth, who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers, is shooting 48 percent on 3-pointers, second best in the NBA this season. Steph, who ranks third all time in made treys, is hitting 44.4 percent, albeit on many more attempts than Seth. Steph has shot 430 threes, compared to Seth's 123.

But with this year's NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte, N.C. -- the Currys' hometown and where their father, Dell, played 10 seasons for the Hornets -- the league couldn't pass up this chance for a storyline at the marquee event, which is scheduled for Feb. 16.

"[Seth] was leading the league in percentage for a while," Steph said on The Woj Pod. "In terms of family history, my dad playing 10 years in Charlotte; being one of the original Hornets to now having the All-Star game in Charlotte."

Might as well make it three Currys at this point. After all, Dell drilled 1,245 of his 3,098 3-points attempts, giving him a 40.2 percent mark that's 34th best in NBA history. He's now a TV analyst for the Hornets.

This will be the sixth NBA 3-point shooting contest for Steph, who won it in 2015 but skipped the event the last two years.
