Kevin Durant will not play in Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Raptors because of his lingering right calf injury.

He hasn't taken the floor since he walked to the locker room late in the third quarter of the Warriors' Game 5 win over the Rockets in the second round of the NBA playoffs.

Do the Dubs need to start mentally preparing for the fact he might not suit up again this season?

"I'm not sure," Steph Curry told reporters on Thursday. "Just knowing he's trying to get back as soon as possible and there's certain checkpoints he has to go through. The way that we've handled it to date is, 'What's the focus today? Who's able to play? And how are we gonna go out there and give our best effort?'

"Knowing he's not gonna play Game 4, we know what our rotations are gonna be, everybody lock in and go win that game.

"And then when we get on the plane to go to Toronto, ask the same question. We hope at some point he will be back, and when he does, we'll be able to transition our perspective with him available."

What do the Dubs miss most without the reigning two-time NBA Finals MVP?

"Everything," Curry said before laughing. "He's an all-world athlete who makes your team better. It's a tough blow but we still got a great opportunity in front of us.

"And we're gonna lay it all out there on the line to try to get it done."

Over an eight-game stretch from Game 3 against the Clippers in the first round through Game 4 against Houston, Durant averaged 38.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.3 assists while shooting 51.5 percent overall and 43.3 percent from deep.

Many people anointed him as the best player in the world.

But nobody really knows if KD will play again this series. And with the Warriors down two games to one, the Finals could come to an end on Monday night in Toronto if the Dubs don't take care of business on Friday night at Oracle Arena.

At this point, it's a race against the clock.
