Steph sets NBA record with most absurd 3-pointer possible

Steph Curry continues to set records in fitting fashion.

Curry made his 83rd 3-pointer in April during the first half of Sunday's game against the Kings at Chase Center, setting an NBA record for the most in a calendar month. The two-time NBA MVP let the ball bounce into the frontcourt in order to avoid starting the clock.

Then he picked up the ball, fired from 36 feet and, of course, made it. Only 1.7 seconds elapsed on the clock.

James Harden set the previous record with 82 made 3-pointers in November 2019. The Rockets star knocked down 82 triples in 15 games, while Curry made 83 in his first 12.5. Curry still has Sunday's second half, Tuesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks and Thursday's matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves to pad his new record.

The 33-year-old's latest record is fitting honor for what has been, so far, the best month of his career. Curry entered Sunday averaging 39.5 points per game in April, having scored 30-plus in all but one of his 12 games. The Warriors star scored 23 -- on 7-of-10 shooting and 5-of-6 on 3-pointers -- in the first half Sunday, and doing so would ensure he had more 30-point games in a single month than any Warrior not named Wilt Chamberlain.

Curry already has one of Chamberlain's records, surpassing "The Big Dipper" as the franchise's all-time leading scorer just this month. If Curry keeps this up, he won't finish racking up milestones anytime soon.
