Steph says Warriors will be team ‘you don't want to see'

Steph Curry spoke with the media shortly after the Warriors were eliminated from the playoffs and discussed the “unfamiliar territory” of losing in the play-in tournament.

Steph Curry wasn't satisfied by the way the 2020-21 NBA season ended for the Warriors, but he sounds eager to come back with a vengeance next year.

"It just didn't go our way, I don't how many different ways to say it, it was a special year all things considered," Curry told reporters after Friday's 117-112 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in the play-in tournament. "And a new experience for me, Draymond and Loon, try to make the most of it. Come back, bottle this up, everybody make the right strides, take advantage of the summer and you don't want to see us next year."

The Warriors trailed for much of the game, but roared back late and had a shot to win on the final possession of regulation. Curry, the NBA's scoring champion, put up 39 points but struggled with the frenzied defense for Memphis, committing seven turnovers.

Klay Thompson and James Wiseman both should be back in the Warriors' lineup at some point next season, and with the improvements seen from Jordan Poole, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Mychal Mulder, this roster should be one of the better ones in the Western Conference.

If Curry can carry over the success he saw this season and Draymond Green brings the same caliber of defense that made him a finalist for the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, Curry is right.
