Steph loves Seth Curry's first Nets 3-pointer vs. Kings

Warriors star Steph Curry jokingly admitted Saturday night that he had to change the "favorite team" on his phone from the Philadelphia 76ers to Brooklyn Nets in light of his younger brother Seth being part of the blockbuster Ben Simmons-James Harden trade.

And with the Warriors not playing the LA Clippers at Crypto.com Arena until 7:30 p.m. PT on Monday, that gave Steph time to watch Seth make his Nets debut against the Kings at Barclays Center.

Seth, wearing No. 30 again after donning No. 31 while with the 76ers, got the start for the depleted Nets and after making a pair of two-point shots, he drained his first 3-pointer six minutes into the contest.

Naturally, Steph was pretty excited.

Without Kevin Durant (sprained left MCL), Kyrie Irving (vaccination status) and Ben Simmons (return to competition conditioning), Seth was the Nets' biggest offensive weapon in their 109-85 win over the Kings, which ended Brooklyn's 11-game losing streak.

Seth finished with a team-high 23 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field and 3-of-8 from behind the 3-point line.

Draymond details ‘rock bottom' of Warriors career, strolls down hallway of mind

When asked about the trade Saturday night after the Warriors' win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Steph admitted Seth was surprised because he enjoyed his time in the City of Brotherly Love.

"It was obviously a big move, a big splash," Steph said. "I know he was kind of caught in the crossfire of Philly making a move like that. Because he loved it there, loved playing there and they were playing well. But obviously you've got to make that move. Win-win for him. Hopefully he can still be on a contender and be impactful in the playoff chase with Brooklyn. Excited to see him in a new [uniform]."

Once Brooklyn gets all its pieces back, they should be able to climb up the Eastern Conference standings. And if they return to the beast of the East that they were before injuries ravaged their roster, the Nets will have a good chance to reach the NBA Finals.

With the Warriors sitting in second place in the Western Conference with a 42-15 record entering Monday's game, it's not out of the question for Steph and Seth to meet in the NBA Finals.

At that point, Steph might have to remove the Nets as a favorite team from his phone.
