Steve Kerr met with the media after practice on Tuesday to provide the latest update on Steph Curry’s availability for the Warriors’ Game 1 matchup against the Nuggets.

Steph Curry's availability for Game 1 of the Warriors' first-round series against the Denver Nuggets is undetermined.

The Warriors announced Tuesday that Curry, who missed the final 12 games of the regular season with a sprained ligament and bone bruise in his left foot, is making good progress in his rehab. Curry has progressed to individual on-court activities and could rejoin practice this week.

However, Curry's exact return date and status for Saturday's Game 1 is undetermined.

Curry initially suffered the injury during the Warriors' March 16 loss to the Boston Celtics when Marcus Smart dove for a loose ball and rolled into Curry's foot.

The Warriors went 6-6 down the stretch without Curry. The two-time MVP returned to on-court activity last week and has been progressing toward a return. Head coach Steve Kerr said Curry would have to get a full scrimmage in during this week before returning to the court.

Kerr told reporters Tuesday that everything with Curry remains "day-to-day," and it's "essential" he scrimmages before returning.

While Curry's questionable status for Game 1 understandably brings cause for concern, Kerr has no doubt the greatest shooter in history will be in top form when he returns.

"Steph has been injured many times, either before or during the playoffs in the past," Kerr said April 1. "He's always returned really, really well. I'm not too worried about him.

"All it takes is one made shot and he's back in rhythm. We'll see how it all goes over the next couple of weeks, but just following the advice of the training staff and we'll go from there."

After missing the playoffs in each of the past two seasons, Curry is champing at the bit to return and has said since he went down that his target return was for the Warriors' playoff opener.

"My goal is to get back for Game 1 of the playoffs," Curry, who currently is out with a sprained left foot, told Sue Bird and Dianna Taurasi on ESPN's "The Bird and Taurasi Show" during the Women's Final Four. "Injuries suck. The timing is hopefully on your side in terms of getting back to as close to 100 percent as possible, which is my goal. The boys will hold it down to the end of the regular season.

"Like I said, that championship pedigree, we still got that. So, I just want to get in a playoff series and show who we are and bring our championship DNA back, and be playing under the brightest lights. It's been two years since we played in the playoffs, so we miss it."

Golden State steadied the ship with Curry in a walking boot, but the Warriors know they need No. 30 on the court to achieve their championship goals.
