After Steph Curry led the Warriors to a much-needed Game 4 victory in Boston behind a 43-point double-double, his teammates stepped up in Game 5 to take a three-games-to-two NBA Finals lead over the Boston Celtics on Monday.
Curry finished the night with 16 points on 7-of-22 shooting and missed all nine of his 3-point attempts -- the first playoff game of his career without making a triple.
But Warriors coach Steve Kerr wasn’t too taken aback by Curry’s off night.

“I think Steph was probably due for a game like this,” Kerr told reporters after the game. “He’s been shooting the ball so well. At some point, he’s going to have a tough night. But we’ve got a lot of talent, a lot of depth that can make up for that. And our guys did a good job of that tonight.”
Before Game 5, Curry made a three in 38 straight playoff games. He also made at least one shot from deep in 223 straight games, including both the regular season and the playoffs.
Of course, credit to Boston's defense. After Curry's incredible Game 4 performance, the Celtics were glued to Curry. But the attention he requires ended up biting the Celtics in the end, as Curry's teammates were able to hold it down on the offensive end.

And regardless of Curry's tough shooting night, the Warriors got the victory in the end and stand just one win away from their fourth title in eight years.
