Sources: Bradley ‘in mix' for Warriors before Heat agreement

Since the Warriors reportedly traded for Kelly Oubre, they have been relatively quiet. As Golden State is yet to make a move on the open market, free agents are finding new homes left and right.

One such player is Avery Bradley. The veteran guard certainly was on the Warriors' radar, too.

Sources told NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole that the Warriors were "in the mix" for Bradley before he ultimately agreed to a deal with the Miami Heat. Bradley reportedly agreed to a two-year, $11 million contract with the Heat, his agent told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Bradley, who turns 30 years old later this month, would have been a great fit for the Warriors. He's a defensive stalwart and also a capable shooter from beyond the arc. With the Los Angeles Lakers this past season, he averaged 8.6 points per game and shot 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.

Warriors' loss to Rockets opens eyes to potential playoff problem

There's a good chance Klay Thompson's injury played a part in Bradley choosing a team other than the Warriors. Thompson tore his Achilles on Wednesday and will miss his second straight season. That drastically changed the Warriors' title odds

The Heat, on the other hand, stunned everyone and made it all the way to the NBA Finals this season. Golden State was considered a team in the hunt for a title, but free agents might think otherwise after Thompson's absence. It's a tough pill to swallow but this just might be the reality for the Warriors this offseason.
