Reports: Kevin Durant will sign two-year max deal with player option

Update (6/30/2018, 8:49 p.m. PT): Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania reported that Kevin Durant is committed to signing a two-year max deal with the Warriors. This article has been updated to reflect that.

Kevin Durant made it clear he wanted to return to the Golden State Warriors. Soon, he will reportedly make it clear just for how long.

Durant is committed to sign a two-year, max contract with a player option for the second year, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

This path has the potential to be lucrative for Durant. If Durant declines the option, he could re-sign next summer for as much as $219 million over five years, as NBC Sports Bay Area Warriors Insider Monte Poole pointed out earlier this week.

Once Durant signs the reported one-plus-one deal, it would be the third contract of its kind he's signed with the Warriors since first coming to Golden State two summers ago. Durant can't officially sign until July 6 at 9 a.m. PT.
