Fran Fraschilla joined Dubs Talk to explore whether the Warriors should try to find some new stars in the NBA draft or take their chances trading their picks for a proven NBA veteran like Pascal Siakam.
The Warriors possess the rights to the No. 7 and No. 14 overall picks in the 2021 NBA Draft.
And multiple mock drafts have Golden State taking Davion Mitchell with the first of their two selections.
"I know that there are reports that the Warriors like Davion," Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman recently said on the Light Years podcast with Sam Esfandiari and Andy Liu. "But from people I know -- not everybody likes him there. Not everybody thinks of him as a top-10 pick.

"Now that doesn't mean that they wouldn't take him at seven ... [but] I haven't put him to the Warriors at all in my mocks. I could be wrong.
"But I know for a fact that not everybody in the organization thinks that he's a good pick at seven."
Mitchell averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game during his redshirt junior season at Baylor.
He shot nearly 45 percent from 3-point range, was named the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and led the Bears to the national title.

But there are plenty of people across the basketball world who believe Mitchell -- who will turn 23 years old in September and is 6-foot-1.25 inches with shoes on -- lacks the upside worthy of the No. 7 overall pick. Those in this camp would argue the Warriors should choose a prospect with a perceived higher ceiling.

Golden State ultimately could determine the best course of action is to pass on Mitchell at No. 7, and then nab him at No. 14 if he still is on the board.
Then again, the Warriors might end up trading one or both assets and this whole conversation is a moot point.
The situation is fluid and almost assuredly will remain that way for several more weeks.
