NBA rumors: Gary Payton II, Warriors agree to tweak contract

The Warriors had until Wednesday to waive Payton II or owe him about $659,000.

So here are some important details to keep in mind now:

In all likelihood, they will still waive him ahead of training camp in order to try to re-sign him to a fully non-guaranteed 1-year minimum that would lower his salary cap hit by $300k and also avoid having to eat any guaranteed money before the season starts.
