Klay passes LeBron for second on career playoff 3-point list

Share

Early in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Steph Curry found Klay Thompson in the corner for an open three pointer. Before Thompson could even start his shooting motion Curry was already heading back on defense.

Klay Thompson and Steph Curry arguably are the greatest shooting backcourt duo in NBA history, and they now are the unquestioned top two 3-point shooters in the playoffs.

With his second 3-pointer of Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, Thompson moved into second place on the all-time NBA playoffs 3-point list (432), passing Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James (431).

Thompson now only trails one person -- Curry -- and it's unlikely the five-time NBA All-Star will catch his Splash Brother.

Curry entered the series against Boston with 530 career playoff 3-pointers and added six to that total in the first quarter, an NBA Finals record for a single quarter.
