Klay Thompson ‘not sure' if the Lakers are NBA title contenders

Klay Thompson knows a thing or two about the Lakers. He spent his high school years living in Southern California and idolized Kobe Bryant.

And, oh yeah, his dad won two NBA championships (1987 and 1988) with the Lakers and is the team's radio analyst.

"Definitely expected to make the playoffs just because I think their young guys will take a huge leap -- you usually do from your second and third year," he told reporters after practice Tuesday. "Absolute playoff contention.

"Championship contention -- I'm not sure. You got to wait to see for that. It takes a lot of work."
