Steve Kerr spoke pregame on how he intends to use veterans Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala and Otto Porter Jr. in the back-to-back games to close out the season.

Klay Thompson put on a show for all Warriors fans in the first half against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night at Chase Center.

As the main offensive threat with Steph Curry rehabbing a sprained left foot, Thompson carried the Warriors to a 65-62 halftime lead, scoring a game-high 23 points before the break.

Thompson caught fire in just under 20 minutes of action, going 7-of-13 from the field and 6-of-10 from behind the 3-point line.

Thompson now has made six 3-pointers in a half four times this season, and his 23 points in the first half were one shy of his season-high for a half (24 in the second half against the Utah Jazz on April 2).

With the NBA playoffs beginning next weekend, the Warriors are going to need this version of Thompson as they try to traverse the Western Conference gauntlet.

Thompson has been back in the lineup for nearly three months and his points per game has steadily climbed each month. That's a very good sign for the Warriors heading into the postseason.
