Kevin Durant passed LeBron James as NBA's best player, Skip Bayless says

Kevin Durant has taken over the NBA playoffs. The Warriors star is on a tear on both sides of the ball right now, and it all started with him publicly reminding us how great he is.

Before Durant's "I'm Kevin Durant" statement, he was averaging 22 points per game in the first two games of the Warriors' first-round NBA playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers. Since then, he's dropping 38.3 points per game.

In Skip Bayless' eyes, Durant is proving that he's surpassed LeBron James on the NBA mountain top.

"We've known for two years now that Kevin Durant has eclipsed LeBron James as the best player on the planet," Bayless said Wednesday morning on FOX Sports 1's "Undisputed." "There's nobody like him. He's taken it up to a level that nobody has ever seen before. LeBron James has never known this level."

Though he was less efficient, going 9-for-22 from the floor, Durant had another big night on Tuesday when he notched 29 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks in the Warriors' 115-109 Game 2 win over the Rockets. Durant has averaged 32 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in the first two games of the series, leading Golden State to a 2-0 advantage.

"He [LeBron] has never known the ability to just rise up over anybody at any moment and make a jump shot," Bayless said. "LeBron can't do that."

While Durant destroys defenders on his way to a possible third straight NBA Finals MVP, LeBron and the Lakers are watching the playoffs from home.

"Hail Caeser, he's [Durant] it," Bayless said.
