Poole, Looney roll ankles, don't return in Warriors-Heat

The Warriors' break from their injury woes lasted all of one game.

Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney each rolled an ankle in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's 116-109 loss to the Miami Heat, just three days after Steph Curry (tailbone) returned to the Warriors' lineup following a five-game absence.

Poole checked out of Thursday's game with 8:48 remaining in regulation, and Looney was substituted after only 1:01 elapsed on the game clock. Neither player returned.

Coach Steve Kerr said Poole and Looney were doing well, but he was unsure if either would play Friday against the Toronto Raptors in Tampa, Fla.

Poole, 21, missed a game in the G League bubble with the Santa Cruz Warriors on Feb. 28 with a "lower leg" injury. The Warriors recalled Poole to the NBA a day later.

Looney, 25, sprained his left ankle in a Feb. 2 loss to the Boston Celtics. He then missed the following 10 games before returning Feb. 23 against the New York Knicks. Looney told reporters he expects to play Friday.

The Warriors have two open roster spots after trading Marquese Chriss and Brad Wanamaker prior to the deadline. Golden State president of basketball operations and general manager Bob Myers said last Friday Golden State would make a decision on those spots within the week.
