Jonathan Kuminga explains why he has such extreme confidence in himself following his 18-point outing in the Warriors’ 114-105 loss to the Pelicans.

Jonathan Kuminga should be seeing more playing time moving forward after his contributions in the Warriors' 114-105 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night at Smoothie King Center.

With the Warriors resting most of their starters against New Orleans, Kuminga played 37 minutes, scoring 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 1-of-3 from 3-point range with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised Kuminga for his performance and believes the 20-year-old has earned more playing time.

"It was apparent who really played well tonight," Kerr said. "JK played really well. He's earned some minutes. I thought Ty Jerome was fantastic again. He's just played well every single night. I thought [Anthony] Jamb played well as well. There's a lot of good stuff to take from it. Moses Moody played well. We got guys who maybe haven't gotten a ton of minutes who are going to get a chance to play."

Before Friday's game, Kuminga's playing time -- or lack thereof -- had been one of the biggest storylines so far this season as the young forward struggled to get minutes.
