Ja Morant posted on his Instagram story that it was time to “lock in” ahead of their matchup against the Warriors. Steph Curry proceeded to score 46 points and then took a playful jab after the win.

Steph Curry has Ja Morant's NBA MVP vote.

The Memphis Grizzlies star threw his weight behind the Warriors star Sunday, shortly after Curry and Golden State beat Memphis 113-103 at Chase Center.

Morant tweeted that there's "no debate" Curry should win the award.

Damion Lee, Curry's teammate and brother-in-law, backed up Morant.

Curry played like an NBA MVP on Sunday. The 2020-21 NBA scoring champion picked up 46 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, leading the Warriors to clinch the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Sunday's regular-season finale was the first time Morant and Curry had played each other in their NBA careers. Curry missed all but five games during Morant's rookie year, and he also played in neither of the Warriors' back-to-back games in Memphis two months ago.

Despite the delay in their first meeting, the two guards' respect for one another couldn't have been clearer Sunday.

Depending on the results of Wednesday's play-in games, the Warriors could host the Grizzlies on Friday at Chase Center with the Western Conference's final playoff spot on the line. If that happens, Morant's MVP choice is the last player he'll want to see.
