The impending signing of JaMychal Green and the recent Donte DiVincenzo acquisition not only helps the Warriors roster-wise, but also financially.
While the departures of Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. stings for Warriors fans, the Dubs' newest signings certainly helped cut down owner Joe Lacob's large tax bill.

Green's veteran minimum contract -- worth around $2.6 million -- will only add $1.8 million to the Warriors' cap. If the Dubs signed Payton II or Porter Jr. to the deals they received from the Portland Trail Blazers and Toronto Raptors, respectively, that number would be exponentially higher, as the former will be making $8.3 million, and the latter $6 million next season, respectively.
Meanwhile, early in July, DiVincenzo agreed to a two-year, $9.3 million contract with a player option in the second year. Overall, the Warriors will be saving over $60 million with these maneuvers.
Lacob has been clear that there is a limit to the Warriors' spending, and explained earlier this month that money was the clear reason why they couldn't bring back Payton II and Porter Jr.
"No surprise to us that if these guys got ... like Gary Payton had a good year and if he got a big offer, it was going to be very unlikely we were going to re-sign him, no matter how much we love him," Lacob told The Athletic's Tim Kawakami on "The TK Show."

"And we did like him a lot. He got a much bigger offer, in fact, than we thought he would get. Way beyond. And I'm not saying he's not worth it or is worth it. But it is a lot. And it's not something we really could entertain doing."

As it currently stands, the Warriors' rotation is pretty set, with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney assumed to be starting, with Jordan Poole, DiVincenzo, and Green among the first off the bench.
From there, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and James Wiseman round out the rest of the rotation. Depending on how Steve Kerr is feeling on any given night, any of the youngsters certainly could end up playing more minutes than Green or DiVincenzo.
At any rate, with their mix of "win-now" veterans and the youth movement for a second consecutive season, how this Warriors team performs is something all teams will be keeping an eye on next season.
