Following the Celtics Game 4 loss, Jayson Tatum admitted the Warriors’ defensive game plan has disrupted his play this series, but feels it is his job to “be better.”

Jayson Tatum is ready to turn the page from an underwhelming performance on Friday night.

In the Warriors' 107-97 win over the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden, Golden State contained Tatum as best they could, resulting in a fairly average 23-point performance in which he shot just 8-of-23 from the field.

Tatum believes his indecisiveness and inability to find a rhythm are solely on him, but the Warriors' defense hasn't made it easier.

"I mean, I give them credit, they're a great team," Tatum told reporters after the game. "They're playing well. They got a game plan, things like that.

"But it's on me. I got to be better. I know I'm impacting the game in other ways, but I got to be more efficient, shoot the ball better, finish at the rim better."

The Celtics' entire game plan is built around Tatum, who quickly has established himself as one of the best players in the game of basketball today. But the pressure to perform hasn't gotten to him, and he knows that it just comes down to execution.

Why Warriors must lean on more than experience in Game 7 vs. Rockets

Steph hopes to repeat his epic 50-point Game 7 performance vs. Rockets

"No," Tatum said when asked if the pressure has gotten to him. "I think that's just as simple as it is. I just got to be better. I know I can be better, so it's not like I, myself or my team is asking me to do something I'm not capable of. They know the level and I know the level that I can play at."

"It’s kind of on me to do that more often than not just to help my team in the best way that I can. It's not too much pressure at all. It's kind of like my job."

After scoring just 12 points in Game 1, Tatum responded with a 28-point performance in Game 2 and a 26-point performance in Game 3.

History certainly is on Tatum's side for a bounce-back performance in Game 5 on Monday night.
