The Warriors start their NBA season with a tough stretch, facing Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets on opening night. Then three days later, the Warriors travel to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Christmas Day.
The Warriors will face Kevin Durant for the first time since he left Golden State in less than two weeks, and KD looked exactly like his old self in his preseason debut with the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
Durant played in a game Sunday for the first time since June 10, 2019, when he tore his Achilles as a member of the Warriors in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The two-time Finals MVP scored 11 points in just under 12 minutes the last time he wore a Warriors jersey. He's still a walking bucket in a Nets jersey, too.

Durant drove right by Washington Wizards center Thomas Bryant for his first points with Brooklyn. The same deadly jump shot he displayed for three seasons as a Warrior is back as well.
After three dominant years with Steph Curry by his side, Durant already is in sync with his new point guard, Kyrie Irving.

Durant finished the first half with 15 points, two rebounds, two blocks and one assist. His 15 points were second to just Irving, who scored 18 before halftime.

The Warriors are slated to play Durant and Irving in the regular-season opener in Brooklyn on Dec. 22. This is bound to be an entertaining first game of the season, and the Warriors know Durant still is one of the best players in basketball, as he proved in his preseason debut.
