Draymond saw Curry flurry coming in Warriors' win vs. Clippers

Draymond Green has played with Steph Curry for a decade and has seen the growth in Curry’s defense and insists he’s one of the best defenders on the Warriors.

Draymond Green has been around long enough to know when a Steph Curry explosion is coming. The Warriors star forward can probably feel it in his bones -- the sense that the greatest shooter of all time is about to unleash a holy wrath

So it was no surprise to Green when Curry went supernova in the fourth quarter Sunday against the LA Clippers, ripping off 13 points in the final stanza to give the Warriors their 18th win of the season.

After Curry was hit with a technical foul for arguing a no-call on what the Warriors believed was a clear transition foul, Green knew the floodgates were about to open.

"But you saw the flurry coming," Green said after the Warriors' 105-90 win in Los Angeles. "I was telling Jordan Poole over there, 'Yeah, he about to put this one up.' He started putting them up. It was good to watch."

The Warriors were frustrated with the whistle all afternoon in Southern California. Once Curry got T'd up, he walked to the other end of the court and started nodding. The anger and emotion had reached a boiling point, and the flurry was coming.

Why Marks was 'embarrassed' by Heat fans cheering Butler in return

Butler issued stern warning for Riley ahead of Warriors-Heat game

"I kind of laugh afterward just because I know what it is. It's competition, it's intensity, it's desire because I want it so bad," Curry said. "Whatever it takes to get going, once the spark is lit I let the emotions fly. However long that lasts, as soon as there's an intentional moment, there's a voice that's like, 'Alright, let's play some basketball.' I love to control that moment because if you don't, then it spirals into doing something other than what you're supposed to be doing. Just let it out, and play basketball."

Curry knocked down three consecutive triples to swing the momentum back in the Warriors' favor and bury the Clippers for good.

"It was as upset as I've seen Steph in a long time, and it was as upset as I've been in a long time," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "Kind of a miracle that I didn't get a technical. But it seemed to get us going. So, whatever it takes."

Green could see the tidal wave coming. He's experienced it so many times before, he knows the signs and knows what to do. Sit back and watch the Curry flurry wipe out the opposition.
