Draymond Green returns to Warriors' season opener after injury scare

The Warriors' season opener got off to a scary start Thursday night. And their poor shooting wasn't even the worst part.

With the Warriors trailing the Clippers 8-0 early in the first quarter at Chase Center, Draymond Green set a screen on Clippers guard Patrick Beverley. When Green went back on defense, though, he was in obvious pain as he yelled and grabbed his right arm.

Warriors rookie Eric Paschall replaced Green, who went back to the locker room.

Green was diagnosed with a right elbow contusion, and his return originally was listed as "to be determined." But after icing his elbow in the locker room, Green was back on the floor to start the second quarter.

Although Draymond returned to the game, losing the do-it-all forward for any stretch of time would be a big blow to the Warriors. They already are without center Willie Cauley-Stein, and shooting guard Klay Thompson is unlikely to play at all this season while he rehabs a torn ACL.
