Draymond prophetically predicted Mavericks would upset Suns

Leading up to the Western Conference finals, Steve Kerr discussed the connection between Draymond Green and Kevo Looney and why those two play well together.

Don't bet against Draymond Green's basketball mind. That's a losing battle.

While the Warriors' forward is in the middle of a future Hall of Fame playing career, he's also flexing his muscle as a basketball analyst, whether it's on Twitter, on TNT's studio show or through his new podcast.

On May 2, just as Game 1 of the second-round NBA playoff series between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks was about to tip off, a clip from a recently recorded "The Draymond Green Show" was posted to Twitter with the four-time NBA All-Star making his prediction for the series.

Green said the Suns would Game 1, which they did, but when pressed by his show producer, he picked the Mavericks to win the series.

Fast-forward 13 days and the Mavericks made Green's prediction look good as they blew out the Suns 123-90 in a stunning Game 7 at Footprint Center in Phoenix.

Incredibly, the Mavericks' upset over the Suns sets up a Western Conference finals matchup against Green and the Warriors, which begins Wednesday night at Chase Center.

Getting back to what Green said on May 2, he's well aware that the Mavericks won't be an easy team to beat.

"Over the series [with the Suns], this is a tough one because this Mavs team, I'm telling you, I'm telling you, this Mavs team is not a pushover by any stretch of the imagination," Green said two weeks ago. "And so I'm going to admit, this is a tough one for me to pick. It's a pick 'em. It's a coin flip. Both teams are really good."

Now, the team Green believed could take down the 64-win and overall top-seeded Suns will travel to the Bay Area to face the Warriors.

Green will have to use his great basketball mind to figure out how to slow down Luka Doncic, Spencer Dinwiddie, Jalen Brunson and the rest of the Mavericks.
