Draymond, Wiseman join Warriors practice for first time in camp

Steph Curry and Kent Bazemore haven’t played together since 2014. Yet somehow they still have some chemistry on practically a completely new team. Bazemore discusses how easy it is to play with Curry again.

Draymond Green and James Wiseman practiced with the Warriors for the first time during training camp Monday, and coach Steve Kerr didn't rule out either for Golden State's preseason finale against the Kings on Thursday.

Both players had been working out on their own after being unable to join the start of team workouts last week. Warriors president of basketball operations and general manager Bob Myers told reporters on Dec. 1 that two unnamed players tested positive for the coronavirus, delaying the start of team workouts until Dec. 7.

Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick in last month's NBA draft, began attending and watching practices last week. Kerr said ahead of Saturday's preseason opener that Wiseman, 19, had been working with a coach individually as the team went through drills, with that coach explaining the drills and the rookie big man's involvement. The center also spent some time working on his outside shot.

Kerr told reporters last week he had no concerns about Green missing the start of camp. Despite their disparities in experience, both Green and Wiseman were noticeably eager practicing alongside their teammates for the first time in training camp.

It's possible Green and Wiseman will play in the Warriors' regular-season opener on Dec. 22 against Kevin Durant's Brooklyn Nets, Kerr said, but Golden State's doctors will make the final call. Green's excited to get back in the lineup, but he said playing that day will be bittersweet ... at best.
